Desenhos is a community art project developed with a group of recently arrived young refugees from Somalia and Afghanistan at the Porto Seguro Reception Center.

Based on three guiding principles—sensitivity, creativity, and cooperation—new social anchors were created through creative processes that combined individual talent with the construction of a shared project. Memory and dreams were explored as vehicles for social integration and the empowerment of the group.

Through artistic mediation exercises, techniques such as collage, dry pastel drawing, charcoal portrait drawing, the representation of paths between the past, present, and future, watercolor painting, and letter writing were explored. 

Nine co-creation workshops were held, culminating in a group exhibition at the Porto Seguro Reception Center to honor the community’s creative process.
